ECC 2014

Welcome to the ECC 2014

For the first time in its history, the ECC fleet will be sailing around the islands of Sardinia and Corsica. We feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to be the organizers of such an event. The wild, rough beauty of Corsica, combined with the unusual elegance of Sardinia make for excellent cruising. Unusual, natural beauty, wonderful cuisine and very diverse ports and towns provide one of the most interesting experiences of the Mediterranean. We very much look forward to seeing it all.

General information

ECC – Introduction & Background
•The ECC is an annual 7-day sailing event where engineering and related Companies race against each other on competitive but cordial terms
•The event has taken place in various locations in the Mediterranean Sea and was first sailed in 1994
•From the original group of friends sailing against each other it rapidly grew to the largest, privately organised international event
•Each yacht represents a Company associated with the engineering industry
•Participants are recruited out of all business functions and hierarchies from technician, sales manager, engineer, director to CEO
•Apart from competitive sailing the ECC therefore offers a platform from getting to know each other to building long-term business partnerships
•Since it was first held the winning yacht has to organize the ECC of the next year
•The ECC is a good mix of an informal amateur event with a professional organisation supported by various sponsors

ECC 2013 Key Facts
•The ECC 2013 in Mallorca with yachts was won by The Firm IPCM, skippered by Jan Bonset
•This crew now has the privilege to organize the 2014 event

•It will take place from Saturday April 26th to Saturday May 2nd 2014
